Aretta Hankins Dickerson, 83, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at her home.

She was born on February 13, 1939, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Ovel Sisk Hankins and James Hankins. She loved listening to live music and dancing. Her greatest joy was spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanette Markos and Wanetta Ford; brother, J.D. Hankins; and two infant brothers, James Hampton Hankins, Jr. and Jerry Hankins.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Eugene "Pee Wee" Dickerson of Madisonville; sister, Freda Doster of Madisonville; nieces, Belinda (Mount) Davis, Cynthia Doster, and Drenda (Pat) Eaves; nephews, Tony (Lisa) Ford, Jerrell Doster, Troy Hancock, Amon (Dana) Hancock, Rob (Linda) Hankins, and Jeff Hankins; special grandchildren, William, Turner, and Hannah; and many other loving members of the Dickerson family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Tami Coleman officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are William Doster, Justin Doster, Turner Davis, Pat Eaves, Troy Hancock, and Rob Hankins.
