Anthony "Tony"
Sparks Horner
Nov 5, 1965 — Oct 15, 2026
Henderson
It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Sparks Horner, 60, of Henderson, Kentucky. Anthony passed away peacefully at Redbanks Nursing Home on Thursday, October 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Anthony was a dearly loved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend.
He was born on November 5, 1965, in Marion, KY, to the late Peggy Sue Harper Horner and Herbert Sparks Horner.
Anthony dedicated much of his life to hard work through his various professions. He worked as an Agricultural Equipment Operator, Grain Truck Driver and Hauler, Mechanic, and for many years as a Casting Technician at Gibbs Die Casting in Henderson, Kentucky. Known by friends and neighbors as one of the best mechanics around, he possessed a remarkable talent for diagnosing and repairing almost anything. Many sought his advice and expertise, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Beyond his work, Anthony treasured his friendships and enjoyed spending time with those closest to him. Throughout his life, he sought to live by the Golden Rule, a principle faithfully taught to him by his mother: to treat others as he wished to be treated. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Cocke.
Anthony is survived by his four sisters, Marla Jennison and her husband Stewart of Owensboro, Kentucky, Myra Fugate and her husband Jackie of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, Marcia Cocke of Madisonville, Kentucky, and Melinda Weil and her husband Mark of Madisonville, Kentucky; one brother, Kenneth Horner and his wife Kim of Robards, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory and hold close the moments they shared with him.
Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his legacy of hard work, kindness, and friendship will live on through the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville, Kentucky. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, 2410 S Green St, Henderson, KY 42420, or at https://stanthonyshospice.org/donate/
