Annie Mae Phelps, 78, of Hanson, KY passed away at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her home.

She was born on March 25, 1936 in Madisonville, KY to the late Mary Oakley Roberts and Nathan Roberts. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, BoBo Phelps and Ricky Phelps; and her sisters, Geneva Cunningham and Alma Bowles.

She is survived by her sons, Doug Phelps of Hanson and Jimmie Phelps of Steger, IL; her daughter, Anna Louise (Pat) Rickard of Hanson; her brother, Thomas (Vanetta) Roberts of Hanson; her caregivers, Patty Phelps Leggett and Tina Phelps; her long life companion, Shirley Bowles; her loving dog, George; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Danny Lutz officiating. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Shelton, Nathan Phelps, Ricky Phelps, Andre Matlock, Marshall Kittinger, Less Putty and Jason Phelps. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Shelton, Jr., Hayden Huddleston, Nate Matlock and Devon Matlock.
