She was an active member of several local organizations, such as Business and Professional Women's Club (serving as its president), the Historical Society of Hopkins County, the Hopkins County Genealogical Society, and AARP. She always looked forward to sharing pizza with her many nieces and nephews and taking them to The Dairy Queen.
