Alleen Betar, 88, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 2:06 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Hillside Villa Care and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville.

She was born on July 16, 1925 in Madisonville to the late Dixie Cunningham and Jesse Herman Cunningham. She was formerly in food services with the Hopkins County Board of Education. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elias "Al" Betar; her son, Charles Betar; her sisters, Artie Welborn, Catherine Napier, Louise Cayce, Bessie Pearl Walker and Janie Venoy; and her brothers, Archie Pentecost, Bryant Pentecost and Henry Cunningham.

She is survived by her daughter, Elease Kinney of Madisonville; her son, Gaylon Betar of Madisonville; her sister, Rose Frances Mahar of Tennessee; her granddaughter, Lauren Boucher of Madisonville; her grandsons, Larry Kinney, Brandon Kinney, Aaron Kinney and Josh Betar all of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Gene Rickard officiating. Burial will follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Sunday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Kinney, Lawrence Kinney, Brandon Kinney, Aaron Kinney, Josh Betar and Robert Boucher.
