Edith Richards, 95, of Dalton, KY passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Salem Spring Lake Nursing Home in Salem, KY.

She was born on December 3, 1916 in Dalton, KY to the late George W. Richards and Ruby Neisz Richards. She was a retired school teacher for Dalton Elementary. She was a member of Hopkins County Retired Teachers Association and a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Dalton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Richards Daves and Grace Richards; two brothers, Zack Richards and John Richards; and two nephews, James Daves and Keith Daves.

She is survived by her three nieces, Ann (Chris) Daves Martin of Oregon, IL, Eva (Bob) Daves Tucker of Dalton, KY and Karen (Greg) Richards Maddux of Marion, KY; her sister-in-law, Algie Richards of Marion, KY; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 in Prospect Cemetery in Dalton with Bro. Tom McKim officiating. Burial to follow.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Pallbearers will be David Maddux, Libby Maddux, Shawn Tucker, Teryl Tucker Farmer, Christopher Martin, Curtis Martin, Zachary C. Martin and Zachary D. Martin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
